Biological indicator: High temperature resistant spore bacteria are used as biological indicators. For example, Bacillus subtilis, Bacillus stearothermophilus etc. like. Bacteria spores are placed in special tubes in the middle of the autoclave where heat and steam can hardly reach. Death of the bacteria with spores in 12 minutes at 121 ° C indicates that the sterilization has been done completely. After sterilization, the bacteria are cultured and planted into broth with thioglycolate or minced meat. If no bacteria grow at the end of 7 days, it indicates that sterilization has been completed.
Browne sterility control tubes: These are tubes containing color-changing liquids and placed in the middle of the autoclave. Changes color in autoclave at 115 ° C, 25 minutes, 121 ° C, 15 minutes. Turning from red to green at the end of these periods indicates complete sterilization.
